Developed intranet application currently in use by a major financial institution to manage a bank-wide customer alignment program. Business rules identify customers to be aligned in the program. The application delivers applicable customer information to bankers who make and record alignment decisions. The decisions are subsequently reviewed and approved on-line in a multi-step process involving up to four bankers per customer. Approved customers are ultimately directed to new bankers and stores, The application tracks each step of the process and facilitates the generation of customer letters and account conversion instructions. Over 70,000 customers have been processed by over 800 bankers to date.
Financial Performance Measurement
Developed fee income database roll-up process used by a major financial institution to manage discretionary fee waivers from deposit accounts. Designed and implemented business logic to identify and differentiate banker initiated discretionary waivers from system-generated program waivers. Calculates a discretionary fee waiver percentage to manage banker behavior. Provides drill-down to individual banker and transaction details. Information is reconciled monthly to the general ledger on an automated basis. Data has been used in management reporting and internal audit processes for past eight years to monitor $1.5 billion annual revenue stream.
Forecast Automation
Developed custom Excel-based application used by commercial real estate funds to forecast property and portfolio operations. The application provides a menu-driven interface that links Excel spreadsheet models to a SQL Server database and MRI accounting system. Includes utilities for uploading and downloading data between systems. Utilizes VBA programs within an Excel Add-in file in conjunction with SQL Server procedures.
Sales and Marketing Tools
Developed intranet application used by a bank call center for a new outbound calling program to promote services to retail banking customers. The application delivers a daily list and synopsis of customers predicted to have certain banking needs based on recent transaction activity. Call center bankers document their calls by entering dispositions and notes into the application for the purpose of monitoring progress and determining banker incentive compensation.
Developed intranet application used by a bank sales team for a new outbound customer calling program targeting small business customers. The application delivered a daily list and synopsis of customers predicted to have needs for internet banking products and services based on recent transaction activity. The application captured dispositions and notes from the sales team to monitor their progress.
Portfolio Management
Developed custom portfolio management application used by a commercial real estate organization. The application maintains pertinent facts about each property investment and tracks financial performance throughout all phases of the investment. Each asset is updated quarterly as circumstances change. Financial data is incorporated from the accounting system in an automated fashion. Other data is collected in an intranet GUI that uses a 'wizard' format to facilitate ease of use. Data and reports are extracted from the application via Excel pivot tables.
Database Audit Tools
Developed an automated validation system for a 50 terabyte data warehouse operation. Designed procedures that continuously monitor and audit the data loaded to the database. An intranet GUI alerts responsible parties when loads are late and when other exceptions require attention.
Entity / Tax Management
Developed a legal entity and tax return tracking application for a commercial real estate organization to manage over 400 companies. The on-line application collects and maintains pertinent facts about each legal entity and their associated tax returns via user forms. The GUI displays the entities in an expandable 'treeview' format that reveals the parent-child relationships between the entities. Pre-defined pdf and Excel reports are available as downloads from the GUI. This on-line application replaced a series of unwieldy Excel spreadsheets.
